Pink Plagued By Wasps

http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/Pink-28283.html

Pink's house has been invaded by wasps.
The 'Please Don't Leave Me' singer has an infestation of the stinging insects in her backyard, but doesn't want to call out an exterminator to kill them.
She wrote on her Twitter page: "Wasps nests are invading my backyard!!! Is there a way to not kill them? Maybe get a wasp interpreter to kindly ask them to leave?!"
To help her forget about her wasp worries, Pink - who this year reunited with her husband, motocross racer Carey Hart - has been cooking soup.
She revealed: "Just made homemade minestrone soup from scratch. It's amazing, not as good as Beppi's in Sydney though. I'm not Sicilian. Ingredients on request: veg' stock, carrots, celery, spinach, black beans, parsley, basil, bay leaves, onion, garlic, cabbage, tomatoes, sage, thyme and pasta."
"Wasps nests are invading my backyard!!! Is there a way to not kill them? Maybe get a wasp interpreter to kindly ask them to leave?! "
Pink isn't the only celebrity being plagued by an unwanted pest.
Kate Moss is being "driven mad" by a flock of doves.

Pink heads home $80m richer after record-breaking tour

http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,,26002421-5005368,00.html
August 30, 2009 01:00pm

AFTER more than three months criss-crossing Australia, American pop superstar Pink has wrapped her record-breaking tour, grossing more than $80 million. The inspirational singer played to a packed house at Sydney's Acer Arena last night. It was the 58th and final performance of her phenomenal Funhouse national tour.In total, Pink performed before more than 660,000 concertgoers over the past three months."It is a huge commitment on her part, but she loves being here,'' said tour promoter Michael Coppel."She didn't do it unwillingly. When we were doing (planning) the tour, we only had a month commitment and then all of a sudden the demand was there so we kept adding shows and ended up with three months. It was really meant to be a maximum of 30 days."She has graciously made the time available and I think she's had a great time doing it as well.''Pink - whose real name is Alecia Moore - played her first show of the tour in Perth on May 22, then travelled the country tirelessly, performing sell-out shows. She played 17 concerts in Melbourne, six in Adelaide, four in Newcastle, two in Wollongong and Canberra, 11 in Brisbane and four in Perth.Combining ticket sales and merchandise, it is estimated the Funhouse tour would have grossed more than $80 million. How much of Pink's multimillion-dollar earnings will remain in Australia depend on the type of contract she signed prior to arriving in the country, said University of Queensland taxation expert Stephen Marsden."There are special provisions in the Taxation Act for entertainers and sports peopl,e but it's not a flat rate,'' Mr Marsden said."If the contract was signed overseas, very little (of her earnings from ticket sales) may be subject to tax.''Pink's high-energy, two-hour show covered all her biggest songs from her five albums, including Just Like A Pill, U + Ur Hand, Trouble, So What!! and Get The Party Started.Reinforcing her reputation as one of the world's best live performers, her spectacular stage show included risque costumes, breathtaking aerial acrobatics and fabulous visual effects. But it's not just Pink's concert tickets that have been selling. She has sold more than 4.8 million albums and singles in Australia since releasing her debut offering, Can't Take Me Home, in 2000.Her single So What!! has been in the ARIA Charts for the past year. Also over the past 12 months, all five of her albums made it into the top 30 at the same time.Pink's Funhouse album has never left the top 10 in the 42 weeks since it was released last October, spending nine weeks at number one, which is a record for any female artist on the ARIA Charts. It's not surprising Pink has often spoken of her desire to one day live in Australia."The Pink Australian success story has been extraordinary, it just doesn't get any bigger,'' said Sony Music chief Denis Handlin."Australians have affectionately embraced her as their own as she has done with us.''Pink is scheduled to return tothe US today, where she will be reunited with her husband Carey Hart.Hart spent some of the past few months in Australia, performing at moto-cross events in cities where Pink was playing.Pink will celebrate her 30th birthday on September 8 before kicking off her first ever headline American tour. She's has 12 American shows planned, starting in Seattle on September 15.

Pink fans see red over late night rail

http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,,25988888-3102,00.html

QUEENSLAND Rail has defended staff after Pink fans claimed they had been "kicked out" on the streets because the concert finished too late for normal train services.
Fans told The Courier-Mail they had been forced to leave Central Station after trains from the Brisbane Entertainment Centre at Boondall on Wednesday night arrived too late to connect with final services.
Caitlyn Cooper, from Boronia Heights, said she was expecting extra services would be put on to cope with the late-night passengers.
"When we arrived at the station, we were told that we had to get out of the platform area and out to the street because there were no more trains," she said. "They didn't really accommodate us at all."
She said a group of teenagers had become upset after being told to leave the station. "There were 16 and 17-year-old girls there who had no way to get home, and they were told that was their problem," she said.
Ms Cooper said she had been able to catch a taxi home, but was out of pocket nearly $70.
Queensland Rail said yesterday the notices for the concert had forewarned commuters they would not be able to catch connecting trains outside of the Caboolture and Ipswich lines.
A spokesman said about 20 commuters had been affected by the problem, but denied they had been forced to leave the station.
"People who missed the last trains for the evening were advised by station staff to catch taxis, or they could remain on the concourse area of Central Station (monitored all night by security officers) – they were not kicked out into the street," he said.

Yesterday angry Pink fans accused Queensland Rail of putting passengers at risk after they were told to leave Central Station because there were no connecting services to take the commuters home. A Pink fan told The Courier-Mail today she had been told to leave Central Station because they had arrived too late for final connecting services to Loganlea.
"The Pink concert did not end until about 11:30 and we got to Boondall, paid a full fare to Loganlea station - with 1000 other train commuting passengers that went to Pink,'' she said. "When we got to Central we got off the train to transfer onto a Gold Coast line but instead we were met by QR staff and security requesting us to leave the station as there would not be any other trains until 4am in the morning.'' The fan said a several groups of teenagers had become upset after being told to leave the station.
"There was one group where the girls were bawling their eyes out because they had no one to pick them up because they were heading to the same destination as I was - Loganlea train station,'' she said. The fan said she had been able to catch a taxi home, but was out of pocket nearly $70 despite paying for a return train ticket. Timetabling showed passengers travelling services to Ipswich and Caboolture would have been able to catch a connecting train, but no other lines reached the last connecting services.

PINK's early end-of-tour party Down Under sounded eventful.
So much so, the singer won't be releasing the pics in case she "incriminates" her pals.
The singer, who brings the curtain down on the Oz leg of her Funhouse tour on Saturday, promised fans she'd post snaps from the bash on her Twitter page.
However, she performed a U-turn as the party seemingly didn't turn out quite how she planned.
She Tweeted: "I've reconsidered the picture idea, to protect my loved ones who would have been incriminated. :)
"Lets just say it was a "SWINGIN" party:)"
Makes us want to see the pics even more!

Pink leaves Melbourne after record 17 concerts

http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,,25958669-5012974,00.html

AFTER 17 concerts to 205,000 fans, Pink has played the final Melbourne date on her Funhouse tour at Rod Laver Arena.
The chart topper leaves Melbourne today with only one regret - no addition to her collection of ink by her favourite tattooist, Giovanni from Northcote.
"I ran out of time and I'm pissed about it," Pink said.
Melbourne is Pink's strongest market in Australia, the closest being Sydney with 12 shows.
Melbourne's love affair with Pink works both ways.
"It's been awesome," Pink said. "I finally know my way around the city. I've said that before but now I'm clear."
Pink's downtime during her six separate visits to Melbourne on the Funhouse tour have included trips to wineries and a Carlton match. "I had the best vegan parma and sticky date pudding - twice - at the East Brunswick Club'," Pink said. "And the Dali exhibition was amazing."
The Funhouse tour, which started in May, sold a remarkable 660,000 tickets nationally over 58 shows.
Industry sources say the tour has generated more than $70 million, one of the highest grossing tours in Australian history. It ends in Sydney on August 29.
Pink will then fly to the US to celebrate her 30th birthday with husband Carey Hart, one week before before the American leg of her tour starts on September 15.
"I've loved this whole tour but now it's near the end I just wanna go home and lick my dog Bubba. If he was here, I could stay here forever," she said.
The star has a special meal in mind for her birthday.
"I'll have Spaghettios with a chocolate cupcake and a nice glass of wine. Keep the ghetto and the fabulous," she said.
Pink performed more shows in Melbourne (17) than the 11 shows for the US leg of the tour.
"I've done more shows in this city than I'll do in my entire country," Pink Twittered this week. "So funny."
The singer filmed a show in Sydney for the Live in Australia DVD due out in October.
The tour has kept Funhouse in the Australian Top 10 for the past three months; it has gone from seven times platinum (490,000 copies sold) to nine times platinum (630,000) during her Australian leg.
Pink's back catalogue has also enjoyed renewed sales; before Michael Jackson's death she broke a record for the most albums in the Top 40 by the one artist.

Pink thinks fur is fattening

http://www.music-news.com/ShowNews.asp?nCID=0&H=Pink-thinks-fur-is-fattening&nItemID=28442

Pink thinks fur makes people look fat.The 'Sober' singer - who is an outspoken animal rights activist - believes the only way to stop celebrities wearing animal skins is to tease them about their weight. The 29-year-old star is quoted as saying: "The whole animal welfare and cruelty side of wearing fur is clearly not working because some people still insist on wearing it."So I think we should have a new campaign with the message - fur makes you look fat. That is probably the only thing these people care about so let's go for that. You look terrible in that. It makes you gain 15 or 20 lbs. That will do the trick."Pink - real name Alecia Moore - is a strict vegetarian and staunch supporter of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).Although she loves animals, the star wasn't happy when a frog hopped into her face on a recent bike trip in Australia with husband Carey Hart. The pair had stopped on the side of the road for a toilet break when the excited amphibian "attacked" her.A source said: "They were relieving themselves by the road when a frog jumped up and hit Pink bang in the eyes. She freaked." Fortunately, Pink was not injured.

PINK PLANS BABIES AFTER TOUR

Pop star PINK is planning to start a family with her husband CAREY HART once she wraps up her ongoing world tour. The singer married the motocross racer in 2006 but the relationship hit problems and they separated just two years later (08). The couple reconciled at the beginning of the year (09), but the singer has been unable to enjoy her newfound happiness because she has been touring the world to promote her latest album, Funhouse. The global trek kicked off in February (09) and is due to wrap up in December (09) in Hanover, Germany. Hart admits it has been difficult to move their relationship forward since his wife has been on tour, but reveals they are both keen to start a family once they wrap up their work commitments. He tells E! Online, "It's a long ways down. She still has another 18 months of touring, and I'm pretty heavy in competing again in all my businesses, so it's definitely going to happen, but just not any time soon." 03 August 2009 12:01

Pink Hates Hangovers

http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/Pink-27763.html

Pink doesn't drink alcohol because she "can't deal with hangovers".
The 'So What' singer - who is famed for her wild lifestyle and has previously admitted taking illegal drugs - has curtailed the amount she drinks as it has a negative impact on her performances.
Her husband Carey Hart, who she reunited with earlier this year, explained: "I don't really really drink anymore. Pink's actually gotten really good about it, too. Her tour is so intense that she's the same way as me. She can't deal with the hangovers.
"If she has an off night, she falls from her trapeze, so that's not so good."
Professional motocross racer Carey - who married the now 29-year-old singer in January 2006, with the pair taking time away from their relationship in February last year - added he and Pink are happy since reuniting, but have no plans to start a family yet.
He added to E! News: "It's a long ways down. She still has another 18 months of touring, and I'm pretty heavy in competing again in all my businesses, so it's definitely going to happen, but just not anytime soon."

A pillar backstage has been painted pink to commemorate her record-breaking run of shows and she has even autographed it.
Last night was Pink's 13th show at Rod Laver Arena on the Funhouse tour, breaking John Farnham's previous record of most shows at the venue on one tour.
Pink will return to the venue for four more shows this month.
The singer said she felt at home at Rod Laver -- even her dressing room has been painted pink.
She said her past few shows in Melbourne had had the best crowd reaction of the tour so far.
"On Saturday night I was proposed to by a nine-year-old boy called Ryan. It's been really fun," she said.
Pink spent her night off on Friday watching Carlton beat North Melbourne, taking a particular shine to Brendan Fevola's antics.
"They were punching the s--- out of each other and the umpire guy was right there. It was like 'Yeah!'," she said.
Injured Blues player Jarrad Waite gave Pink a personal commentary on the game.

FANS waiting to see Pink's trademark trapeze act were left disappointed when it was cut from the rock star's Brisbane performance on Wednesday.
The cut came after the sell-out star had cancelled her Monday night Brisbane gig, citing a bout of laryngitis.
Promoters said at the time the night off was necessary "to enable Pink to continue to deliver her spectacular performances".
On Wednesday the promoters said that she was ready to return to the stage, but only hours later the show quietly decided not to run with the singer's famed trapeze act and her hit song Sober.
The abandoned performance would usually see the singer swing from high above the Brisbane Entertainment Centre audience on a trapeze, paired with a male trapeze artist.
Fans who had done their research were expecting to see the Cirque du Soleil-trained singer perform a number of backflips from a great height without missing a vocal beat.
They were left bitterly disappointed.
Pink admitted to the 11,000-strong crowd that she'd never sung one of her favourites, Family Portrait, at "such a low octave", and joked with her on-stage band about why her voice was so low.

POP-rock superstar Pink is no shrinking violet when it comes to public displays of affection.
The 29-year-old singer, seen here wearing a beanie and without make-up, was spotted hugging and kissing husband Carey Hart on a romantic getaway in far north Queensland.
The So What singer and her motocross racer husband – who split in February last year after two years of marriage – are basking in marital bliss after recently renewing their wedding vows.
Tourist Sergio Ricchiugi, who took a happy snap of the pair, said they seemed very much in love.
"She's a very affectionate woman. She was kissing and hugging him lots," Mr Ricchiugi said.
He took the shot of Pink as she kicked back with a mojito cocktail outside the Iron Bar in the main street of Port Douglas yesterday.
"She was very relaxed because . . . no one was making a fuss, no one hunting her for her autograph, lots of people walked straight past. It must have been the disguise with the beanie. Not many people wear beanies up here. It's too hot."
Taking some downtime from her record-breaking Funhouse tour, the singer took in the Daintree rainforest on a motorcycle adventure.
She also hit the Great Barrier Reef two days ago as part of her week-long break in Port Douglas.
The 29-year-old wrote on Twitter that she was looking forward to being "good ole Alecia (her real name) again".
Port Douglas tourism boss Doug Ryan said Pink had been a huge hit with the locals.
"Everyone says she's been really friendly and chatty," he said.

Thanks to a mid-season break plotted by the promoters of her record-breaking Funhouse tour, the pop-rock superstar reunited with husband Carey Hart and will spend this week show-free in Queensland.

Pink keys into her grim past

POP superstar Pink spoke from the heart when she met homeless kids in Sydney last week.
Performing her 10th show in Sydney as part of her whopping 58-date Australian tour, Pink invited students from Surry Hills' independent high school Key College backstage. The school caters for Sydney's homeless youth.
"That was me," Pink told The Sunday Telegraph.
"I wish I had something like that when I was a kid. I was kicked out of my house when I was 15. I was on drugs, the whole nine. I could have used a school like that."
But despite a difficult childhood and battles with drugs, the 29-year-old managed to turn her life around to become a top recording artist, selling millions of albums.
Pink learned about Key College after reading an article in The Sunday Telegraph's Sunday magazine in May - the same issue in which she featured on the cover.
The school opened in 1996 and is the brainchild of Youth Off The Streets founder Father Chris Riley.
So moved by the story, she contacted the school and invited more than 20 of its students to her Sydney shows.
"The kids are so tough and cool and it's fun, I just hope they have a good time," she said.
"Maybe them seeing the show is a little kick in the a*** to show they can do whatever they want 'cos I was that kid."
One student, Simon, 16, was overcome with emotion when he met his idol.
He was so excited to meet her that he had to hold his hands together to stop them from shaking, explaining Pink's music had kept him alive during serious bouts of depression.
"Pink was pretty much my salvation when I was growing up," said Simon, who had dyed his hair pink and painted his fingernails to meet the singer.
"She gave me a way to escape all the problems that were happening around me. Her music gave me a way of building myself up. Pink's music made me feel stronger inside," Simon said.
Meeting the students was equally as moving for Pink.
"That's the stuff that hits you," she said. "That is where I was at. That is how I felt about Linda Perry and Janis Joplin, so here we are."

Personal Pink ... The star meets teens backstage.

Pink sells herself

By Claire Harvey
July 05, 2009 12:00am
INSIDE the Entertainment Centre on a chilly weeknight, Alecia Moore is getting ready for her show.
The artist formally known as Pink - or P!nk, as her merchandise department prefers - is about to launch into a hugely entertaining two-hour spectacular of dance, song and acrobatics.
Pink will dangle from the ceiling in a purple court jester outfit. She'll skip around - actually skip - in super-high black heels.
She'll pay homage to the household gods of babedom in a skin-tight body suit of nude fabric, criss-crossed with white ribbon - it's the granddaughter of that black seat belt Cher wore in her Turn Back Time video clip (although tonight's crowd is so young they think Cher is something to do with illegal downloading).
The catsuit-ancestry is no coincidence: Pink's costumier, Bob Mackie, is the sequin svengali behind Cher's behind, and Pink has a clear sense of pop history. This 29-year-old is a complete performer. She sings like Steven Tyler, dances like Beyonce, charms like Robbie Williams, cracks wise like Bette Midler, touches herself like Chrissie Amphlett and yowls with the voicebox - and the tight pants - of a young Robert Plant.
What's more, she markets like Coca-Cola - and that is the foundation of the 58-gig roadshow she's trundling across Australia. A van outside the Entertainment Centre is where Pink's sales team makes it all pay: a five-deep queue of early-teen girls and their mothers, sales are robust, although there's plenty of please-mum wheedling and counting of pocket-money.
T-shirts are $50. Socks are $40 a pair. You can have a key-ring for $10 or a lanyard that looks sort-of-not-really like a roadie's backstage pass for $20. For the studious Pinkette, there are library bags for $25. And this is my favourite: panties for $50 a pair. Little girls' panties, in black and, obviously, pink.
The one item of merchandise that's not for sale is recorded music: there are no CDs, no vinyl, no iTunes vouchers. These are the depressing economics of modern rock.
Piracy, streaming and file-sharing have all shredded traditional revenue sources. Fans have decided recorded music is effectively free - if we pay for music at all, it's with a grudging sense of old-fashioned values or the kindness of our hearts.
That has forced musicians out on the road; the internet has restored live music to its rightful position at the top of the authenticity register.
Music's intimacy isn't between you and your headphones, it's between you and your idol, as long as you can ignore the cellphone-waving hordes. I get that. I'm not blaming Pink for the web, or suggesting she's any different from Madonna or Coldplay or Green Day or any other pop juggernaut.
Except for this: Pink has always claimed she is different.
Carefully, she has cultivated herself as the opposite of Britney, the remedy to Jessica Simpson, the anti-Cristina. "I'm sick of being compared to damn Britney Spears," she sang in 2002's Don't Let Me Get Me, the song that, fittingly, brought her to the attention of Spears' mainstream audience for the first time.
But then she appeared in a Pepsi commercial - with Britney.
In that same lyrical breath, Pink had slammed her old record-label boss, L.A. Reid, for telling her to change everything about herself if she wanted to be successful - except that she was still signed to Reid's label, LaFace, and is now the label's most lucrative name.
More recently, Pink said she had refused to write a song for Spears because she didn't think of Britney as an artist.
"The only people I write for are real singers - not that she's not a real singer, but she's more of an entertainer. When I mean real singers, I mean the likes of Lauryn Hill, Faith Hill - and I'd write for Amy Winehouse , because you need serious attitude to carry off the dumb stuff I write about," Pink said in 2007.
But what's the difference, apart from that Pink - despite all her talk about booze and bar-fights, is far too professional and savvy to ever get wasted on YouTube, or to slur her way through an interview?
The reason six Pink recordings are in the ARIA physical album charts right now is that they're co-written and produced by the same people who bring you Britney, Ricky Martin, the Backstreet Boys and Kelly Clarkson - people like the pop guru Max Martin (who wrote Pink's hit So What) and Billy Mann.

I'm hugely admiring of Alecia Moore; her voice, athleticism, charisma, intelligence and genuine charm. She seems a decent, thoughtful, fun person, as well as a stupendous performer. I think she's got twice the talent of any of the women she criticises.
If Pink really wants to occupy feisty feminist rock territory, maybe she should stop letting her label flog $50 knickers to little girls from the suburbs.
They're not worth that much.

Pink Twitters about Wombat after Nova's True Blue Party

IT SEEMS even baby wombats can't keep their eyes off Pink's breasts! The singer who is now touring Australia has been twittering about her experiences. She was thrown a surprise party yesterday that included visiting Australian wildlife with Nova radio station's Merrick & Ross and Kate Ritchie. Pink duly related on Twitter that "the baby wombat was looking for my boobies". The visit was part of an Australian themed party yesterday afternoon for Pink thrown by Nova. Thirty-six winning listeners came dressed in their Aussie gear armed with gifts for their favourite artist. Pink hung out with guests, tried a traditional Aussie lamington and chatted live on air with Merrick & Rosso & Kate Ritchie during Ryan, Monty & Wippa’s Drive shift in Perth from 4pm-6pm yesterday. Merrick & Rosso & Kate Ritchie surprised Pink with a baby dingo, a baby wombat, a baby wallaby and a baby koala from the Featherdale Wildlife Park as Pink is such a known animal lover. She was just besotted with them all and could barely speak she loved all the animals so much. The baby dingo was yet to be named so the handler suggested that Pink could name it … after a few suggestions she settled on Sandy. Pink was so taken with the animals she was seen commenting on Twitter about it several times last night after the event “I miss wombat, I miss him. I miss him so much…”’

Michael Jackson tribute + Pink in Sydney at North Bondi Italian restaurant - 1

http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/story/0,,25704125-5013560,00.html

MICHAEL Jackson songs were on high rotation on the club circuit at the weekend but failed to live up to their dancefloor-anthem status.
About 10.30pm at King St Wharf's Cargo Bar, which was hosting a Jackson tribute night, even Billie Jean failed to gets bums off seats. Although Pink dedicated her sixth Sydney show to the pop hero, the inappropriate choice award went to her Aussie support act Faker who opened their set with the hit This Heart Attack. Hmmm.

Pink has employed another Aussie in her entourage

...

SHOWING her immaculate taste, Pink has employed another Aussie in her entourage, this time as her personal chef: Kate Paul, 42, who runs LA-based catering company Foodink Catering.
Paul, versed in French and Asian cuisine, has spent 15 years cooking for bands and their crews, making the most of local and seasonal produce. She moved to LA and opened Foodink in 1992, as a boutique concept for creating food driven by client taste and seasonal produce.
Originally from Sydney, Paul has cooked for David Bowie, Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner and Janet Jackson. Looking after Pink on her Australian tour was a perfect new role.

Bayliss shows style

http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,,25649061-5012789,00.html

By Mark Hinchliffe
June 20, 2009 12:00am

A ROCK star, champion surfer and two motorbike riders have strapped into the world of V8 Supercars.

While last week's exercise was more about media exposure, one of the participants emerged as a potential V8 Supercar superstar.

Three-time World Superbike champion Troy Bayliss impressed TeamVodafone with a stunning test drive in Craig Lowndes' former race car at Queensland Raceway.

Seven-time surfing world champion Layne Beachley also had a drive in the car, while across the other side of town rock singer Pink and husband, freestyle motocross rider Carey Hart, enjoyed drives in Russell Ingall's Supercheap Auto racing car at Norwell.

But it was Bayliss who caused the sensation in the pits.

TeamVodafone chief engineer Ludo Lacroix said Bayliss was the best driver they had yet officially evaluated.

"He could easily race in the top five of the development series or in the last 10 of the main series," Lacroix said.

Bayliss, who retired from motorcycle racing after winning his third world title last year, was happy with his time of 1:12.6, just moments after Lowndes had warmed up the car and tyres with an 1:11.8.

"First time out was fun. I've always been a big V8 fan," Bayliss said.

"The rest of the day has been like work."

After each timed session, Bayliss headed straight for Lowndes' race engineer Jeromy Moore to study the computer telemetry and seek advice on how to improve his times.

"I'm pretty happy with my times, but it gets to a point where it becomes hard to find that extra fraction of a second."

Late in the day he found that extra speed, tripping the clock at a very respectable 1:11.85. To put that into context, the race lap record is 1:11.0033, set by Garth Tander in 1999.

Bayliss said he was "really serious" about breaking into V8 Supercars.

"I want to leave a good impression. I don't want to just circulate," he said.

"I've ticked all the boxes so far and I've improved. I feel like I'm at home."

Lacroix said motorcycle road racers understood the correct racing lines and had the feel for the grip.

"They also don't like to come off because it hurts so they don't drive silly," he said.

"He now just needs to get his head around four wheels and a locked diff."

Bayliss was invited to test by TeamVodafone principal Roland Dane who owns several exotic sports bikes including a Ducati 1098R and a fully imported Ducati Desmosedici MotoGP race replica.

He said Bayliss was not fully appreciated in his home country.

"We don't realise what a superstar he is," he said.

"In the UK they know him as a superstar. They respect Casey Stoner, but they respect and like Troy.

"For me he became a god when he won the last 990cc GP race in Valencia in 2006."

Dane said the Ducati superstar deserved a go at four wheels.

"It would be nice to see him in the development series but there is a bit more to learn with the H-pattern gearbox," he said. "The sequential in this is more like a bike gearbox, so he should be comfortable with that.

"It would also be nice to see him make an enduro round.

"He just needs more seat time and race time."

Dane said they had already decided their endurance drivers for this year.

Meanwhile, Beachley grappled with the 600 horsepower machine after having competed in the much less powerful Mini Challenge.

"I had a complete brain explosion," she said when returning to the pits after grinding some gears, missing a turn and spinning out.

"Bloody chick drivers. Do I need to go back and get the gearbox? I think it's over at turn four," she joked with the pit crew.

"When you are surfing in shark-infested waters you know they're there, but here you have to deal with gravel pits, gearshifts and sharp corners."

At the Holden Performance Driving Centre in Norwell, Pink and Hart took turns driving in a Supercheap Auto race car.

"I was smooth, fast and picked some great lines," said Pink after her lap around the circuit with Ingall.

"I had an absolute ball out there today and was amazed at how fast the car went – my favourite part was the braking.

"I do most of the driving between us so it was good to take it to a track environment where it is totally different."

Carey was much more serious about his stint and impressed team manager Paul Morris with his first effort in a right-hand-drive car.

"He didn't put a foot wrong," a spokesman said.

Hart said it took a while to get used to the car, but was able to improve as the laps went by.

"The braking and cornering capabilities are incredible; something you can't get the feel for until you are actually sitting in the car," he said.

Hart has been headlining his Hart and Huntington Freestyle Tour which is a free show staged before each of Pink's Funhouse Tour concerts.

The three-hour events include an FMX show starring Hart who pioneered the sport of freestyle motocross and was the first person to backflip a motorcycle.

The FMX stunt demonstrations are accompanied by music, street art, fashion, custom bikes and cars.

The tour comes to the Gold Coast on June 20.

POP/ROCK Princess Pink has flown into a rage about a fan's "security breach" at her luxury Palazzo Versace condo.

It's understood Pink and her motocross hubby Carey Hart were enraged on Sunday morning to find a note pushed under their door from an admirer at the upmarket Palazzo Versace hotel on the Gold Coast.

The letter, from an in-house guest, explained that it came from a big fan of the star and begged for a face-to-face meeting.

But it didn't go down well with the So What? singer, who was horrified the note had found its way under the door of her private condo and claimed it was a major security breach.

As a result the star cut short her Palazzo Versace visit by three days, having originally booked the $1600-per-night condo up until Wednesday morning.

A rep for the hotel, regarded as one of the world's most discreet celebrity hideaways, did not return calls.

Pink's hubby wants to race at Bathurst

CAREY Hart might be known to most Australians as the hubby of pop rock sensation P!nk, but the freestyle motocross star has a plan up his sleeve to grab our attention.
Having taken his first V8 Supercar out for a spin two weeks ago, the pioneering motocross rider suggests a more permanent move to the four-wheelers might be on the cards.

Forget the dirt tracks, Hart hopes one day you will see him behind the wheel at Australia's most iconic track - Bathurst.

"It's something that I want to do,'' said Hart, who was invited for a trial run by Holden team owner Paul Morris on the Gold Coast earlier in the month.

"If I'm able to get teamed up - preferably it'd be with Paul because Paul's such a great guy - maybe I could start broadening my driving skills not to just the short course truck stop, but to get on asphalt.

"I don't want to just be pigeonholed into riding dirtbikes, I think I've got the skills to be able to make a crossover.''

Hart has already given Rally Cars a go and is scheduled to ride in the US-based Lucas Oil short course championships.

But in the meantime, the 33-year-old will have to strut his stuff in the action sport that made him famous in the first place.

He's on the Gold Coast for the last stop in his nationwide Hart and Huntington showcase tour, which has been running in conjunction with his wife's concerts.

The pair have parted ways for the moment - P!nk is in Melbourne to prepare for several more shows, while Hart, a die-hard Gold Coast fan, will host some of Australia's best riders on the glitter strip.

He will be joined by top Australian FMX riders Blake "Bilko'' Williams, Steve Mini and Kane Saul at the free event, which also includes mini-bike and street bike performances, graffiti art demos and fashion parades.

Despite motocross' hard edge, Hart said the event was aimed at drawing families.

Saul, 24, has proof the action sport crosses all age groups, having received a double thumbs up from his girlfriend's 75-years-plus grandmother during one recent show.

"She loved it,'' he said with a laugh.

Hart, who has endured more than 60 broken bones in his thrill-seeking pursuits, said wife P!nk was another fan and had taken her appreciation one step further.

"I got her her first dirtbike about four years ago ... and anytime we get a chance, we go do some laps and we also go out on the Harleys,'' he said.

"I'm not out there setting the world on fire, trying to chase medals anymore, but I'll always love riding and being on my motorcycle.''

Pink's concert bungee scare

PINK'S record-breaking Funhouse tour took a death-defying turn last night when the star's bungee rope failed during a live performance.
"Tonight’s show was awesome! Audience was great - even when the bungees broke and I had to do the emergency silk climb:) that was so scary!!!" Pink wrote on her Twitter account.
Reportedly, the bungee didn’t lower during her gig at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, leaving Pink hanging in the air with some unaware of the danger, believing it was part of her act.
According to Twitter followers, her husband Carey Hart was in the audience.

Pink and Carey Hart take Gold Coast mountain ride

By Amy Harris

June 15, 2009 12:00am

POP star Pink made the most of a day off yesterday when she and hubby Carey Hart took to the Gold Coast hinterland for a long motorbike ride.

The visiting American rocker, who is set to perform her third Boondall show in Brisbane tonight, spent hours driving up and down Mt Tamborine on her Triumph road bike while Hart, who makes his living on motocross bikes, saddled up on a Harley Davidson.

The couple were briefly accompanied by security minders but later peeled off on their own at the Mt Tamborine exit.

"They were very chilled out and drove up and down Guanaba Rd all afternoon, stopping every now and then for a chat," said one spy who was impressed with Pink's riding skills.

"But I don't know how she managed it in spike heel boots ," he said.

It's understood the bikes were delivered to the couple at their Palazzo Versace digs late last week.

P!nk, meanwhile, returns to Sydney for the start of more shows at the Sydney Entertainment Centre from June 25.

The US superstar singer will clock up tens of thousands of kilometres as she crisscrosses the country on her energetic three-month Funhouse tour.

It's rumoured she and Hart plan on taking a break in the Whitsundays in late July.

Pink's entourage settles in to Coast

http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,,25631742-5003421,00.html

WHEN you have spent half the night performing aerial tricks and singing your lungs out, you're allowed a sleep in.
Pink rested in her $1600-a-night villa at Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast late yesterday morning ahead of her second show at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre last night.
The pop superstar was so hyped on Friday night she stayed up on the Twitter social website from her BlackBerry to say thanks to the Brisbane crowd.
"Brisbane! I had so much fun tonight! U people got good energy. Fo' sho'," she wrote.
It's little wonder she's excited by the response she's received in the Sunshine State. With more than 126,000 Queenslanders buying tickets for her shows, it's estimated her 11 performances in Brisbane will generate up to $16 million.
As she slept yesterday morning, her motocross star husband Carey Hart slipped into a local McDonald's for coffee before heading to Brisbane for his Hart and Huntington Freestyle Tour show, also at the Entertainment Centre.
Staff said he sat alone and downed two sausage-and-egg McMuffins before returning to the hotel foyer with orange juice and cup of filtered coffee.
"He didn't make a fuss. He put his rubbish in the bin before leaving," one staff member said.
Pink has maintained a low profile during her Gold Coast stay, but there is plenty of action behind the scenes keeping her mega-show on the road. The 29-year-old star employs 61 people in her entourage, including her band, five dancers, a trapeze artist, security guards, road crew, drivers, a personal trainer and her personal chef.
Pink prefers vegetarian meals, but keeps her concert fridge stocked with her favourite Aussie beer, VB.
Her days involve a morning training session with her personal trainer and specially prepared low-GI meals.
Cirque du Soleil performer Sebastien Stella, who trained Pink in her acrobatic stunts, is also travelling with her, as is her manager Roger Davies, who has looked after the interests of Tina Turner, Cher and Olivia Newton-John.
While concert promoters would not reveal how much Pink will earn from her 58-show Australian tour, she was expected to perform to more than 600,000 fans.
With ticket prices up to $129.90, it's estimated she will make about $70 million.
Eleven trucks transport the massive Funhouse show - which features elaborate acrobatics, burlesque and ballet - clocking up tens of thousands of kilometres around the country.
As Pink prepared for last night's show, Hart said his wife was holding up well to the physical demands, although she had a slight cold.
"She is doing great. She is feeling a little bit under the weather right now but other than that she is top notch, she is happy. The fans out here have been very supportive of her. I think we have both hit a home run," he said.
Pink will soon have 10 days off between shows, during which time she and Carey will be able to escape to a holiday destination.
Her last performance here this month is on Tuesday. She then returns on July 20 to play five more dates, and will return for two final concerts at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on August 25 and 26.

Pink rocks at Boondall to sold out crowd

http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,,25629113-5012980,00.html

Anna Caldwell
June 13, 2009 12:00am

ROLL up, roll up - last night the Queensland love affair with US rock goddess Pink began in spectacular fashion at the at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

With a record-breaking 10 shows still to come, and an unprecedented one in 37 Queenslanders expected to see one of the circus-inspired Funhouse gigs, it needed to be dazzling.

Her enamoured fans, the Pink army, had assembled early dripping in Pink merchandise, glitter and heavy mascara – their hopes were high.

And when she soared in above the packed crowd, hoisted in a high-ropes extravaganza, the 29-year-old rocker didn't disappoint.

The stage, a fairground/Moulin Rouge hybrid, set the scene for jaw-dropping ballet, burlesque and bungee stunts.

Having trained with Cirque du Soleil trapeze artist Sebastien Stella for two months, Pink was more than up to the task of impressing the crowd – an eclectic mix ranging from wide-eyed pre-teens to awestruck pensioners.

The set included many of the big hits that have seen the star this week rack up all six of her albums dating back to 2001 in the Aria charts.

The crowd laughed when she belted out her break-up anthem So What that had been an unreserved dig at her husband after their now-repaired split in 2008.

The big hits were peppered by a variety of covers including AC/DC and Queen, rewarding the music-savvy in the crowd.

With Brisbane the fifth stop on this 58-gig tour, the element of surprise was dwindling. But as Pink might say, So What?

The screams were deafening, her laugh was infectious and the show is set to continue.

Tickets go on sale next week for concerts on August 25 and 26.

Pink gig causes traffic woes

POP star Pink's first Brisbane concert at Boondall tonight is causing traffic headaches for motorists heading north on the Gateway Motorway.

The sell-out performance at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Boondall, doesn't start until 7.30pm but traffic is already congested from the toll booths to Sandgate.

Pink's Funhouse Tour has 11 Brisbane performances over June, July and August.

Pink thinks big on Australian tour de force

By Stephen Downie
The Daily Telegraph
June 12, 2009 12:00am

http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/story/0,,25623402-5013560,00.html

SHE calls it her Funhouse tour but Pink's punishing Australian schedule makes it more of a workhouse. The US superstar singer will clock up tens of thousands of kilometres as she criss-crosses the country on her energetic three-month tour.

With an extra four shows announced yesterday - two of them in Sydney - Pink will play 58 gigs in Australia, entertaining more than 600,000 fans in the process.

Pink tickles her biggest Sydney fan

With such a near-record touring schedule, it's no wonder Pink will need a two-week mid-tour break.

Pink and her motorcycle champ husband Carey Hart, who is with her on the tour, are rumoured to be flying to the Whitsundays later next month.

It could be a chance for the couple to get their marriage back on track following their split last year.

Pink - real name Alecia Moore - has smashed attendance records for female artists performing at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. By the end of her 10-date run there she will have played to 115,598 people.

The next closest is Australia's own Kylie Minogue who did nine shows at the Entertainment Centre in front of 92,695 adoring fans.

The sick kids that silenced Pink

But the overall concert record in Australia's premier city remains with Dire Straits, who played a staggering 21 dates at the venue as part of their 1986 Brothers In Arms tour.

For a star of Pink's standing, there are so far no reports of diva-like behaviour. Entertainment Centre staff say she's a dream to work with.

"She loves a joke," Entertainment Centre's marketing manager Wendy Aldridge said yesterday. "I think she's half-Australian now."

Backstage, the Entertainment Centre has dressing rooms with names dedicated to its star clientele.

There's the John Farnham room and the Elton John Suite, which acknowledges his 41 concerts there over his career. Will we soon see a Pink room? Not likely.

"She would have to get up there in the stratosphere of an Elton John first," Ms Aldridge said.

Pink yesterday announced she will perform two final concerts in Sydney, on August 28 and 29, this time at Acer Arena instead of the Sydney Entertainment Centre.

Tickets for these gigs go on sale on Tuesday at 9am, with a pre-sale starting on Friday at 2pm and ending on Monday at 5pm.

The Sydney shows will be the last in this country before Pink takes a short break and then plunges into the US leg of her tour.

"We feel privileged that she's chosen to finish her record-breaking tour here," Acer Arena's business development manager Don Elford said yesterday.

EDWARD Pickard spent Sunday night at the Sydney Children's Hospital while his mum Melinda went out to see her favourite act, Pink, who also happens to be his favourite too.

"A friend had an extra ticket but I couldn't afford to take Edward and he was really upset," the Heathcote mum said yesterday.

Then, by coincidence, cystic fibrosis sufferer Edward, 13, and his mum were sitting in his ward when the star herself walked in unannounced yesterday afternoon.
She came straight up to me and I went all funny and didn't know what to say," Edward said.

"But we talked about how Mum went to the show and I couldn't - and she said she had some contacts and will get me a ticket."

Edward, who spends eight days in hospital every three to four months, said he was thrilled.

"She's my favourite singer but she was just so normal and nice," he said of Pink, who regularly visits sick children.

Pink and Carey Hart pair flat out

SOME sun, a few hot laps and a long lunch. Pink and her motocross star hubby Carey Hart proved themselves to be "Very GC" yesterday as they made the most of their first day on the Glitter Strip.

After checking into Palazzo Versace, the glamour couple later headed north to the Holden High Performance Driving Centre at Norwell where Hart got his speed fix in a Paul Morris V8.

Flanked by security, the pair went on to Saks waterfront restaurant at Marina Mirage where they ordered up an appropriately-themed seafood spread.

The couple chowed down on a dozen oysters kilpatrick, a plate of lemon pepper calamari and mixed bread while sipping St Clair sauvignon blanc and Vasse Felix dry white.
And as is befitting the multimillionaire singer – who is set to pocket a motzah on the back of her marathon 14-week Australian tour – Pink left a sizeable tip.

"Oh yes," said a Saks spy. "They were very nice."

The newly-reunited lovebirds then went their separate ways as Pink headed back to the hotel while Hart made his way to Brisbane, appearing at surf store City Beach in the Queen Street Mall.

Hart, who couldn't quite draw a crowd like his megastar missus, hugged and signed autographs for the handful of fans who showed at the in-store appearance – a lead-up to his motocross show at the Boondall Entertainment Centre tomorrow.

Tonight Pink makes Queensland history when she kicks off the first of a record 11 concerts at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. An extra two shows were added when the rock goddess arrived in Queensland yesterday morning.
